When you save or import a place, Navify finds its address on the map in the background, using OpenStreetMap. Most addresses are found exactly. Some need your help.
The three statuses
The Places list shows a location status for each place:
| Location | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Exact | The address was found | Nothing |
| Approximate | The street was found, but not the number | Check the pin and fix it if needed |
| No coordinates | Not located yet, or the address was not found | Wait and reload, or fix the address |
Only places that are published and have coordinates appear in your store.
Fix an approximate location
- Open the place.
- On the map, drag the pin to the right door.
- Save, then use Mark as checked.
A pin you place by hand is kept, even when you later edit other fields of the place. To let the app locate the address again, use Locate again.
Fix a place with no coordinates
- Just added? Locating takes a few seconds per place, longer after a big import. Reload the page.
- Still nothing? Check the address: street, number, city, postal code and country. A missing country or a typo in the city is the most common cause.
- New street not on the map yet? Type the latitude and longitude, or drag the pin.
Why this matters
Distances, “Use my location” and the nearest store on the product page all depend on the pin. A pin on the wrong block sends customers to the wrong door.
