# About Navify

## Why we built it

Many brands on Shopify sell in more places than their online store: their own stores, resellers, pharmacies, clinics, kiosks. Their customers keep asking the same question: where can I buy this near me?

The usual answer is a page with a list of addresses, or a map that only exists on a contact page. We wanted the answer to show up where the question happens: on the product page, on a campaign landing page, on the stores page, in the customer’s language.

## What we care about
- **Doing a few things well.** A map that loads fast, data that is easy to keep up to date, and the nearest store where it matters.
- **Saying what the app doesn’t do.** Our features page lists what is coming and is not ready yet.
- **Respecting visitors.** Their location stays in their browser. Reports only count visits when they allow analytics, and keep nothing that identifies them.
- **Answering ourselves.** Questions are answered by the people who build the app.

## The name

Navify comes from navigate, finding the way, and the suffix -ify. The symbol is a pin with a store inside, and in its main version, the path that leads to it.
